ROBERT DI MASSA

A true native, born in Los Angeles. Robert has always lived near the ocean. Growing up in Sunset Beach CA, he found his passion at an early age; the California lifestyle – fresh air, warm weather, surfing, skate boarding, and fine automobiles. At eleven years old Robert began cleaning cars, and disassembling the parts in order to repaint them. At this time he would see his friend’s father buy fine cars to restore for resale; cars like Ferrari’s, 300 SL, and Rolls Royce, peaking even more interest in fine automobiles. Around the same time Robert took up a job parking cars for beach goers and one-up the competition by offering a wash or wax while they go to the beach. At fourteen years old Robert began detailing cars from his home, at age sixteen Robert moved, soon getting a job at a local car dealer and professional detailers in South Orange County.
A friend living in Venice CA offered Robert an opportunity to take his skills and knowledge of car care to the Los Angeles area. Without knowing the area, Robert moved to Venice Beach. Robert found his dream; the California lifestyle here in Venice Beach, CA, and the people here is real (not to mention the customers are incredibly nice). That summer in 1990 from Speedway and Washington Blvd, Superior Car Care was born from an idea, hard work, and a love of fine automobiles. Robert would detail cars from his back parking spaces, working at the Cows end coffee shop at night, growing his business by offering nice cars pulling up to the coffee shop a detail. After six months of working two jobs, Robert had enough business to keep him self-busy.

The Baja Cantina allowed Robert set up in their parking lot everyday, creating business. In 1994, soon after setting up at Baja, he was approached by the owners of Gold’s Gym Venice, being offered the South West Corner of the main parking lot to wash and detail their member’s cars. Since then Robert has opened and operated many kinds of detailing and car wash businesses all over Los Angeles. Having detailed and cleaned hundred of thousands of cars all over Los Angeles and abroad, owning several businesses; from 1990-2006 Parking Spot Century Blvd, LAX. Robert is not only an entrepreneur, but also a philanthropist and avid supporter of his Venice community. In 1990, prompting his love of philanthropic work, he donated his time to a Woman’s shelter. The simple act of lending a little time opened up his eyes to a great side of life, further prompting him to become more involved. He went on to server on the Venice Chamber or Commerce for 5 years, was elected as the LAPD Block captain for his area, served on the LAPD Area Pacific Community Police Advisory Board for 5 years, and by Councilmember Ruth Galanter’s pick, Robert served on the Venice Community Planning Advisory Committee for 5 years, during his time served on the LAPD Community Police Advisory Board Robert was the Chairperson for operation Sparkle, an all volunteer program to clean out the alley ways and areas that trash would pile up, helping to detour crime, and beautify our Community.
